This is the evening for the desert without the riding: there is no machine to drive and no equipment to wear. You arrive, you are given mint tea, you sit down, and the evening does the rest. It suits anyone who wants the desert without the dust, or a group that cannot all ride.
An evening, not an excursion
The camp is 45 minutes by road from central Marrakech, in open stony country with the Atlas range in view while the light lasts. You are welcomed with mint tea, then shown to your places at the low tables. Dinner follows, the music plays through it and after it, and the evening ends at the camp.
What is served
Soup, salads, a main dish — tagine or couscous — and fruit, with mint tea and water at the table.
Drinks other than tea and water are not included. If you have a special diet, tell us when you book and not on the night: vegetarian and allergy requests go to the kitchen, and we confirm what can be prepared before the day. That is a promise about the answer you will get, never about the plate itself.
The show: Gnaoua, Dakka Marrakchia and a fire-spitter
The dinner comes with a show: Gnaoua music and dance, Dakka Marrakchia and a fire-spitter. The live music accompanies the meal and continues after it.
Under the tents
Low tables, benches and rugs, under tents whose sides are closed when the evening turns cold. And it does turn cold: the Agafay loses its heat quickly once the sun is down, and you will be sitting still rather than moving about. Bring a layer you would not otherwise pack for Marrakech.
Children take part accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, and a guide stays with the group throughout.

Paying and cancelling
You can book without paying anything online and pay at the base, in cash (dirhams or foreign currency), before the start, or pay online with PayPal: a 30% deposit or the full amount. Cards are not accepted at the base. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start, and anything you paid online is refunded. Inside that, the 30% deposit is kept and anything paid on top of it is refunded; contact us and we will look at moving you to another evening. The evening starts at 4 pm or 6 pm (5 pm or 8 pm from 1 April to 20 September). With the hotel transfer, the pickup is one hour before the start.
