A camel walks. That is the point of it, and the reason it belongs at either end of a day in Agafay rather than in the middle: it is the slow part, and the plateau reads differently at walking pace.
The animals live at the base, forty-five minutes south-west of Marrakech, and a handler walks with the line for the whole ride.

An hour, or part of an evening
The one-hour ride is the short version, and the one to take if the walk is what you came for.
The four longer outings put the camel inside an afternoon that ends at a table: one pairs it with dinner, and three add a quad ride before it. The sunset dinner is the same trio as the quad, camel and meal day, with the same afternoon departure. The VIP pack adds tea on a dune and dinner at a private table, with music and a fire show. The dune is a natural dune of earth, not of sand.
Who it suits
There is no minimum experience, and the pace never rises above a walk. Riders sit one per animal; the handler brings the camel down to kneel to get on and off, which is the part that surprises people most.
