VIP pack in Agafay: quad, camel and dinner

The whole programme fits into one late afternoon: the quad while the light is still high, the camels next, then the dune, the tea and dinner after dark. One departure a day, at 4 pm at the base, 5 pm in summer (1 April to 20 September).

One hour on a 350 cc quad

One 350 cc quad per driver, a helmet handed out and fitted at the base, and a briefing on the controls, braking and spacing on the track, in English, French or Spanish. A practice lap comes first. No driving licence is required. Drivers must be 16 or over; children ride as passengers from age 6, on an adult’s quad.

On a camel, then up on the dune

The camels walk in single file for 45 to 60 minutes, led by a handler on foot: there is nothing to steer. The ride leads to a dune whose view takes in the whole Agafay desert, all 360°. The welcome tea is served there, with dried fruit and Moroccan pastries. The dune is a natural dune of earth, not an artificial one, and it is not sand: Agafay is a stone desert without sand dunes.

Dinner at a private table

You dine at your own table, in a quiet restaurant. Four salads, then a main course of your choice:

• lamb tagine with prunes and almonds;
• chicken tagine with olives and lemon;
• tanjia marrakchia;
• vegetable couscous;
• pastilla, to be ordered 24 hours ahead.

A plate of three or four seasonal fruits and a dessert end the meal. A choice of five soft drinks and still water is included. The evening goes on with music and a fire show.

Times and transfer

Meet at the base at 4 pm, or 5 pm in summer (1 April to 20 September), in the Agafay desert, 45 minutes from central Marrakech. The transfer is optional: €60 per vehicle of six people, return trip, leaving Marrakech at 3 pm and back around 9 pm (4 pm and 10 pm in summer).

Included, paying and cancelling

Included: one 350 cc quad per driver with helmet, the briefing and practice lap, the camel ride, the welcome tea on the dune, dinner at a private table, the soft drinks and water, the music and fire show, the guide with the group, and third-party liability insurance.

Not included: the transfer from Marrakech, other drinks, tips, photos and video taken on site, and personal accident cover.

You can book without paying anything online and pay at the base, in cash (dirhams or foreign currency), before departure, or pay online with PayPal: a 30% deposit or the full amount. Cards are not accepted at the base. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure, and anything you paid online is refunded. Inside that, the 30% deposit is kept and anything paid on top of it is refunded.
