Quad and dinner in Agafay from Marrakech

Quad and dinner is the evening that puts two hours of quad riding and a Moroccan dinner into one four-hour outing, run by Quad Marrakech on a single site in the Agafay desert. Because it includes a quad, the whole evening is from age 6

Drivers must be 16 or over, and no driving licence is required. A child rides as a passenger behind an adult from the age of 6, and that age applies to the whole group, dinner included. With a younger child, choose the dinner and live music evening, which has no minimum age, or the camel ride and dinner, which is open from 3. Every booking must include at least one adult aged 18 or over, and the quad ride is not advised for pregnant women or people with back problems.

Who runs the evening, and where does it start?

Quad Marrakech runs the evening itself, with its own guides, and you book directly with us, with no reseller in between. The meeting point is Laarissa El Mokhtar, Agafay Desert, 45 minutes by road south-west of central Marrakech. The evening starts at 4 pm (5 pm from 1 April to 20 September); Moroccan time is GMT all year, and Ramadan does not change the times.

Two hours on the tracks, then the table

The ride is the full two hours, not a shortened version bolted onto a meal: the same route, the same guide and the same machines as our two-hour quad outing, with one stop along the way. Dinner follows once the equipment is back, about two and a half hours after the start, and the evening ends about four hours after it.

You do not move between the two

This is the difference worth knowing when you compare offers. The camp and the tracks share a site, so there is no transfer between the ride and the meal, no second departure time to keep, and no group waiting on a minibus while the light goes.

Before the first start

You arrive at the base, complete the paperwork and are fitted with a helmet. The briefing covers the controls, braking and the spacing to keep on the track, in English, French or Spanish, and a practice loop on flat ground comes before the route. No previous experience is expected and no driving licence is required. A guide rides with the group from start to finish, and children take part accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Dinner

Served under the tents at low tables: soup, salads, a main dish, tagine or couscous, and fruit, with mint tea and water at the table. Drinks other than tea and water are not included.

Tell us about a special diet when you book rather than on the night. Vegetarian and allergy requests go to the kitchen and we confirm what can be prepared before the day.

Dust first, cold after

This evening has a clothing problem the pure dinner does not. Closed shoes and sunglasses for the ride, because the tracks are dusty and the dust travels, and a layer for afterwards, because the Agafay loses its heat quickly once the sun is down and you will then be sitting still. Bring clothes you do not mind washing, and something warm you would not otherwise pack for Marrakech.

Included, paying and cancelling

Included: one quad per rider with helmet, the safety briefing and practice loop, the Moroccan dinner, mint tea and water at the table, the guide with the group, and third-party liability cover.

Not included: drinks other than tea and water, tips, photographs and video taken on site, personal accident cover, and the transfer from Marrakech. The hotel transfer is an optional extra and is never included in the price: it is a separate line on your booking, for the return trip, the pickup is one hour before the start, and its fee is given on the page Quad biking in Marrakech.

You can book without paying anything online and pay at the base, in cash (dirhams or foreign currency), before the start, or pay online with PayPal: a 30% deposit or the full amount. Cards are not accepted at the base. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start, and anything you paid online is refunded. Inside that, the 30% deposit is kept and anything paid on top of it is refunded; contact us and we will look at another evening first.
